Cork-based folk band The Turfmen appear at The Ghostlight Sessions as part of an Irish tour celebrating the release of their debut album Daracha Bana.
This impressive 4-piece bring tradition into the present blending melody, rhythm, and heartfelt narratives in a way that feels both timeless and fresh. Rooted in Irish trad music, folk and storytelling, their sound is inspired by legendary artists such as Christy Moore, The Clancy Brothers, The Pogues and many more. With a love for tradition and a modern, playful spirit, The Turfmen deliver live performances full of warmth and energy.
Ardara musical treasure Tanya McCole has wowed audiences at home and abroad with her vocal style, songwriting capabilities and flair for interpreting songs of others.
Truly of Donegal’s great voices, her decades long career has seen her sing blues, soul, jazz and rock with some of the top acts in this country including Sharon Shannon, Mundy and Shane MacGowan as well as touring Europe opening for the late, great John Prine.
Ballybofey born and bred, now based in London, singer-songwriter and producer Lorc D crafts emotionally raw music that moves from minimalistic, spoken-word poetry to soaring choruses. Indie-folk is the genre, but influence also comes from punk adjacent music, the DIY attitudes of which are always an important reference. Fans of Alex G, Joshua Burnside, Jamie T, and Bob Dylan will find familiar touchpoints in his sound.
