The Mulligan Brothers

Of all the bands I’ve booked over the years at The Balor The Mulligan Brothers are my favourite. They first played The Balor in January 2016. “It’s only January but I’m pretty sure I’ve just seen one of the best gigs of the year” was my immediate reaction to that gig. Their return gig in January 2017 was even better.
The Americana Folk-Rock band from Mobile, Alabama have found a large and appreciative audience in Ireland. They return to these shores on the back of the release of their 3rd studio album ‘Songs for the Living and Otherwise’. Mixed by Grammy-winning producer Trina Shoemaker (who’s also worked with Sheryl Crow, Emmy Lou Harris and The Dixie Chicks) it’s their best yet – a beautiful combination of brilliantly crafted lyrics, infectious melodies and soulful harmonies.
Singer Ross Newell’s lyrics stab you in the heart or define life in new ways while Greg DeLuca (drums) Ben Leininger (bass) and Melody Duncan (fiddle) combine to make the songs soar or haunt from the shadows.
These guys are as good as it gets. Don’t miss them.
