This being the fifth year running of the annual Huckster’s Ball, 6-piece residents MAKINGS are no strangers to the Balor. They return with their high-energy Electro/Rock/Rap show which has saw them tour the UK and Germany while also performing at a host of festivals and gigs all over Ireland this year. With band members from Ireland, Scotland, Argentina and the U.S, they are a diverse group with a broad range range of influences that shines through distinctly in their music. Since October 2019 they have been on a mission to release a song with video per week, with ‘CUDLUV?’ the eighth and latest release at the time of writing.

Greyface are an alternative group based in Dublin city. The bands philosophy stems from the Freudian idea of the inner beast. Each member of the group names and paints this inner animal, or ‘Greyface’ taking it to the stage in a theatrical and explosive way. Through high-energy performance, the band perform a stylized mix of music branching from hip-hop, to rock, to electronica. The group performs regularly around the country, recently opening for ‘As It Is’ in The Academy, Dublin.

Fierce Pit Bosses are a three piece band based in Donegal. Playing their own brand of emo-tinged punk rock, and with “heart on their sleeve” lyrics and catchy upbeat tunes, they will no doubt forge their own way on the Irish alternative rock scene. They have been gaining steam with their relentless live performances in recent years, with an appearance at Swell Festival 2018 on Arranmore Island among them. They released their first single ‘Sharks in the Bathtub’ in October 2018 and their first EP of the same name was released on January 19th 2019.

Karl is a Ballybofey native, after moving to California in 2013 he created a buzz in the area with the Irish-American rock group – ‘McHugh & Devine’. The band toured and released ‘The Movie Blues EP’ in 2015 and album ‘Emerald Hills’ in 2016, picking up several awards from Bay Area and international organizations for their song writing. Karl has been making noise lately with his solo project, and his lyric driven songs don’t shy away from a heavy hitting sound. Drawing from his Paul Simon and Billy Joel influences, he has been crafting a sound that can pull in a listener, and penning lyrics that will keep them there.

Local DJ Daniel Thompson AKA ‘Grinder’, who has been doing his thing for 25 years will be playing a number of short sets between the acts throughout the evening, and closing the night off with an eclectic mix of rhythmic grooves from deep, vocal and tech house to keep the party going into the wee hours.
