The first Ghostlight Sessions of 2017 is headlined by Wolves Of Youth – a four piece indie rock/pop band from Donegal. Known for their brilliant and energetic pop/punk performances, they have been toured relentlessly throughout the country supporting bands such as The Academic and The Strypes as well as playing festivals such as Electric Picnic, Indiependence and Sea Sessions.
Tyrone singer-songwriter Lauren Bird brings a sweet, slightly awkward charm to the stage whilst singing songs about the trials and tribulations of being alive. Her self-titled debut EP reached number one on the acoustic Bandcamp chart and won Chordblossom’s Kickstart 2015 competition. Her debut album ‘The Inbetween’ – which successfully raised 105% of the funds needed on her recent Indiegogo campaign – is out now.
Danny and James are a young duo from west Donegal with lyrics, harmonies and hooks that would give Picture This and The Script a run for their money. Ones to watch in the near future.
Composer-Piano player, Megan Nic Ruairí’s music is a combination of haunting, atmospheric melodies with a voice that has been compared to Adele. Her talent has been recognised from a young age – she was just 10 when she received the accolade of East Midlands Most Promising Performer and her first composition ‘Suile’ was shortlisted for Gradaim Cheoil Nos 2015 song of the year. Just 22 she has worked and shared the stage with artists such as Moya Brennan, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Mánus and Dónall Lunny. Megan is currently studying modern music at BIMM music college in Dublin.
