California-FeetwarmersOne of our favourite ever bands return to The Balor!

Two years after The Balor first introduced The California Feetwarmers to Donegal audiences this amazing 7 piece band return to the Balor as part an extensive north-west tour.

The band, overwhelmed by new Irish fans – young and old alike – are renowned for an earthy depth of character that sets them apart from others who have followed that throwback path to New Orleans, circa 1920. Their boisterous on-stage antics are solidly underpinned by playing that is as close to the source as it can be.

Based in Los Angeles, the band dusts down and re-works old classics, re-visiting material from The Blue Ridge Playboys, Scott Joplin, The Memphis Jugband and Emile Grimshaw’s Rag Pickers.

When 4 times Grammy winning blues musician Keb’ Mo’ grabbed them to provide the right feel for Old Me Better – the track that won them so much attention – he did so as he wanted it to be “a joyous thing – a party”. Well the party continues in The Balor – and couldn’t we all do with a bit of that in our lives right now?!
