Hailing from Ardara, Tanya McCole has wowed audiences at home and abroad with her vocal style, songwriting capabilities and flair for interpreting songs of others. 2009 saw the release of her first album Love, Hate and The Blues which was well received by audiences and radio stations alike.

Having sung blues, soul, jazz and rock with some of the top acts in this country including Sharon Shannon, Mundy and Shane MacGowan Tanya found herself returning to her roots of folk and classic country whilst discovering Americana along the way. The result was the 2018 album Because Of You revealing a new stripped back sound showcasing her distinctive voice and songwriting ability. That same year she fulfilled a lifelong dream touring with Grammy award winner John Prine.

Accompanying Tanya for this Balor gig will be Joseph Murphy on bass, Colin Henry on Dobro and Raymond O’Kane. Jospeh is recording producer for Sessions in The House and has played with top musicians everywhere from Ireland to Nashville. North Antrim man Colin has shared the stage with such diverse performers as Nanci Griffith, Gerry (banjo) O’Connor and Dublin guitar legend Dick Farrelly while Raymond, from Dungiven, is best known for his work as composer and songwriter for successful Derry based band LORE.

“The world should know about Tanya McCole. I love her voice. She is authentic in every way – and a great road buddy too.” – John Prine
