The Ghostlight Sessions marks International Women’s Day (March 8th) with a stunning all female, all original line-up.
All-female Electro Pop trio Vokxen have become one of the hottest names in Northern Irish music, thrilling crowds at venues across Belfast and playing international shows in vibrant music cities such as Berlin. Their dark, filmic, 80’s tinged punchy pop sound is rooted in the classic song writing of Fleetwood Mac and Kate Bush whilst bringing comparisons to Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Björk .
CHERYM are three cheeky, loud mouthed girls from Derry making their own unique brand of noisy garage punk rock. Writing songs about themselves and songs about their friends, they have exploded onto the scene in Northern Ireland in 2018, releasing their debut EP Mouthbreatherz in April and securing nominations for two awards at the NI Music Prize – Best Single for their song Take It Back and Oh Yeah Contender for contribution to Northern Irish music.
Singer songwriter Megan Nic Ruairí from North West Donegal composes haunting atmospheric piano as she tells stories of self-exploration and romanticised love while staying true to her unique Celtic sound. Megan is first act to play the Ghostlight twice. We loved her performance with us last year and are delighted to welcome her back to weave her spell on the Balor audience once again.
Born in the doorway of an Idaho forest cabin, Maya Goldblum was 3 years old when she was thrust into the world of jazz inhabited by her father. Currently citing Billy Holiday, Ray Charles and Nina Simone among her musical influences, she values people and art over money with her only goal being to travel the world playing music.
