Our monthly live original music night returns for it’s first outing of 2019. We’ll be bringing you 4 great original acts on the first Wednesday of every month throughout the year.

Son of The Hound is stage name of Omagh singer-songwriter Michael McCullagh, described by Hot Press magazine as a writer of ‘uplifting indie-rock anthems falling somewhere between The Divine Comedy and Dropkick Murphys’. He’s also a published poet, playwright and BBC commissioned comedy writer and combined his twin passions of music and scriptwriting to his latest single The Also Rans into a multimedia project, writing and starring in a 6 part web series of the same name that resulted in a sell-out Belfast show late last year.

Letterkenny four-piece progressive rock band Kessler Effect re-formed in 2018 after a four-year hiatus. from Donegal. They released their long-awaited debut EP entitled Garage Blues last October with a planned second EP to follow soon in 2019.

Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Michael Gillespie loves a good narrative song, inspired by and in the mould of Josh Ritter and early Waits & Cohen. 2019 will see the release of his debut self-produced album “Just resting my eyes”.

Jim Carbin & Acoustic Breaks boast a quintessentially American old style country feel with a nod to the band’s rock & blues origins. They released their new album Long Tome Comin’ last November with cutting electric guitar, subtle pedal steel and beautiful harmonies cementing that old American country vibe.
