Oxfordshire singer-songwriter Ags Connolly has been hailed as the best singer-songwriter in the country field that the UK has ever produced. He has two studio albums to his credit – the most recent Nothin’ Unexpected released in 2017. As a live performer Ags has headlined shows across the UK, Europe and the US while opening for various international artists including Rosanne Cash. Championed by many in the know including Whispering Bob Harris his song When Country Was Proud was named as one of the top 60 country songs from the last 30 years by Country Music People magazine.
“There’s no telling where or how the holy ghost hpw of country music finds its souls to inhabit, but with results like this, it’s hard to argue that it hasn’t found a home in Ags Connolly” – Saving Country Music
Joining Ags on the bill is Leo Rondeau who make the trip from Austin, Texas. A child of the rural American west and owning family lineage within the Turtle Mountain band of the Chippewa Indian tribe Leo’s music is heavily influenced by the likes of Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and Townes Van Zandt. Dealing in stories candid, honest and plainspoken there are echoes of early Tom Waits in his tunes sombre appreciation of the darker realities of life lightened by the trademark hopefulness of his own history and worldview.
Leo has performed at popular American festivals such as Pickathon, SXSW, Bristol Rhythm and Roots as well as the Australian festival Dashville Skyline amongst countless venues in America and abroad.
